UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE – RESERVE DIVISION
COGENHOE UNITED Reserves v WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN Reserves
Compton Park,
Brafield Rd,
Cogenhoe.
NN7 1ND
KO 7-45 pm
The Reserves are back in action tonight with a home game against local rivals Wellingborough Town, looking to push on from Saturday’s 5-1 thumping of Rothwell Corinthians. Josh Jones hit a second half hat-trick in that game to add to earlier efforts from Glenn Cakebread and Lee Felgate as we got our league season up and running.
It has been an even tougher start for the Doughboys who sit bottom of the table, although they have only played two league games so far. They started with a disappointing 6-1 defeat at home to Kempston Rovers with Enoch Adegbite netting their consolation goal. A trip over the fence to play Whitworth in the KO Cup followed and Tom Buller’s lone strike couldn’t stop the Flourmen progressing 2-1 and back to the league on Saturday where they slipped to a 5-2 defeat away to Bugbrooke St Michaels. Buller notching his second of the season with Dylan Carter grabbing the other.
The Cooks will certainly be looking for an improvement from last season’s game here when the Doughboys ran out 6-2 winners. Ben Mason scored both our goals, whilst former Cooks Daniel Uche netted twice for the visitors. Onyedikachi Ebube Jude also netted a brace, while Shane Martin and Sam Whitford brought up the half-dozen.
