UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION SOUTH

 

BIGGLESWADE UNITED 1-2 EASINGTON SPORTS

Biggleswade came the closest so far to picking up a point, but Easington struck late on to take the three points. Alfie Dunn put the home side in front, but James Tizard levelled for the home side before the break. Substitute Harry Walters broke the home side’s hearts late on leaving them still searching for their first point since joining the UCL.

COVENTRY UNITED 7-2 PETERBOROUGH NORTHERN STAR

Curvin Ellis headed home a Riley O’Sullivan cross on 10 minutes and O’Sullivan smashed home a Tyler Haddow cross a minute later. Ellis made it 3-0 on 18 minutes with Haddow the supplier again, but PNS started to turn things around. Mario Neves pulled one back on 34 and then Jack Eldridge brought it back to 3-2 within a minute of the restart. An own goal on 54 put United two goals clear again, then Kyle Carey fired home on 76 to extend the lead. Charlie Faulkner slotted home on 85 and another own goal three minutes later made the final score 7-2.

G.N.G OADBY TOWN 0-0 O.N CHENECKS

Chenecks picked up their second point of the season with a creditable 0-0 draw at mid-table Oadby.

GODMANCHESTER ROVERS 1-3 BUGBROOKE ST MICHAELS

Greg Ling headed the visitors in front on 25 minutes from a Calvin Green free-kick and Cosmin Ionut doubled their lead a minute into stoppage time after running on to a ball over the top from Charlie Green. Calvin Green added another free-kick to his ever growing tally soon after the hour and although Ross Munro pulled one back for the home side from the penalty spot, the points were heading back to Northamptonshire.

HARBOROUGH TOWN 2-0 WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN

Harborough stayed top after a 2-0 win over fellow high-flyers Wellingborough Town at the Beehive. Defender Dan Cooper proved to be the match winner with a second half double, the first a great finish on the volley from the edge of the box from a Josh Walsh corner after 54 minutes and he rifled home the second on 77 minutes to secure the points.

LONG BUCKBY 3-3 COGENHOE UNITED

A cracking game at Station Road saw Long Buckby come back from 1-3 down to end Cogenhoe’s six match winning streak. Tyler Reeve put the home side ahead after 8 minutes, but an angled finish across the keeper from Alex Vaughan on 14 minutes was added to by Chief Boateng’s bullet header from Dylan Wilson’s cross put the visitors ahead seven minutes later. Wilson extended the lead with a delicate finish soon after the break, but Buckby fought back with Adam Shaw reducing the arrears from the penalty spot on 63 and then the same player made it 3-3 with a great chipped finish from the edge of the box in the final minute.

NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN 1-0 DESBOROUGH TOWN

Newport Pagnell left it late before securing the only goal of the game, but a stunning volley by Luke Knight in the final minute was enough on the day for the home side.

POTTON UNITED 0-5 HINCKLEY LRFC

Hinckley kept up their 100% league record with a very comfortable 5-0 win at Potton. Matt Langham set up Liam Read for the opening goal on 31 minutes and Lewis Jones made it two with a great strike after good work from Read two minutes later. Tom Smith added a crucial third when he ran from the half-way line to fire home low three minutes into the second half and Jones made it five on 55 after Smith’s cross had been knocked down by Read. Smith scored his second of the afternoon two minutes into stoppage time, tapping home after good work from Langham.

ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS 1-6 COVENTRY SPHINX

Sphinx enjoyed their afternoon in Northamptonshire, putting six goals past their hosts Rothwell Corinthians. Callum Woodward opened the scoring inside the first minute after lifting his shot over the keeper, Jamal Adams headed the second on 10 minutes and Loz Rawlings drove home another on 16 minutes as the visitors ran wild. A far post header from Rawlings added to the score on 26 and Adams netted his second on 42 when he seized on a loose ball inside the box. Connor Bird pulled one back for the home side on 65 minutes, but sub Madundo Semahimbo made it six for the visitors one minute from the end.

RUGBY TOWN 3-1 EYNESBURY ROVERS

Two goals late in the first half put Rugby in charge of this game at Butlin Road. David Kolodynski set up Danico Johnson for the first on 40 minutes and Recci Loyiso added a second three minutes later after Max Johnson’s free-kick had deflected into his path inside the box. Rugby keeper Jake Woodward kept his side in front with a penalty save and Edwin Ahenkorah made it 3-0 when he was more successful from the spot after he himself had been fouled inside the box. Kelvin Osei-Addo reduced the arrears two minutes from time, but it was too little too late for the visitors in this one.

UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION SOUTH

 

EASINGTON SPORTS 1-2 BUGBROOKE ST MICHAELS

Bugbrooke made it two away wins on the spin as they defeated Easington at Addison Road. Eddie Panter opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a low finish after the ball had deflected kindly into his path, but Harry Walters drew the home side level with a good finish five minutes after the restart. It looked like the game was heading for a draw, but Panter rounded the keeper with five minutes to go and even though his shot was blocked on the line, Greg Ling followed up to fire home the winning goal.

NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN 1-3 COGENHOE UNITED

Cogenhoe got back to winning ways but had to come back from behind at the break to do so at Willen Road. Chief Boateng had rattled the home side’s crossbar before Craig Foxall pulled off a great double-save to deny Jake Watkinson. A mix up at the back allowed Darryl Smith the chance to side foot home the game’s first goal after 21 minutes and that is how it stayed until the break. Josh Adams curling free-kick evaded everyone to go in at the far post on 53 minutes to level the scores, then a minute later Dylan Wilson turned the game on its head with the Cooks second goal of the evening. Wilson broke through and clipped the ball over martin Conway’s head as the two went one-on-one with a class finish to make it 1-3 and end the home side’s hopes of gaining anything from the game.

POTTON UNITED A-A DESBOROUGH TOWN

Ar Tarn were winning 1-0 late in the first half when the lights went out at The Hutchinson Hollow.

BIRMINGHAM F.A SENIOR CUP-1ST ROUND

 

COVENTRY UNITED 3-1 WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

The UCL club proved too strong for Wolves U23 with a 3-1 win at the Butts Park Arena. Joe Cairns 28th minute opening separated the teams at the break, before Tyler Haddow (58) and Kyle Carey (74) took the advantage up until three. Josh Hubner pulled one back a minute from the end for the Premiership club’s youngsters.

BUILDBASE F.A VASE-1ST ROUND

 

COVENTRY SPHINX 9-0 AFC BRIDGNORTH

Hat-tricks for Ryan Harkin (35, 46 & 67) and Loz Rawlings (45, 73 & 78) lead the way as Sphinx put nine past Midland League side AFC Bridgnorth. Callum Stewart (14), Louis Guest (31) and Josh Willis (63) made it 15 goals in two games for the Coventry club.

EYNESBURY ROVERS 1-2 SANDBACH UNITED

Leon Lobjoit’s far post header on 41 minutes had given the UCL club a half-time lead, but the North West Counties League First Division One South boys bounced back to win the tie through Bobbie McDonnell on 53 and Callum Chapman ten minutes from time.

LONDON COLNEY 0-1 NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN

Mo Ahmed won this one with his second half goal as The Swans travelled to face their former SSML league rivals. Ahmed evaded two challenges before firing home the decisive goal ten minutes into the second period.

QUORN 0-4 HINCKLEY LRFC

North v South went the way of the form book as Leicester Road eased home on Quorn’s 3G pitch. Tom Smith opened the scoring from a Matt Langham cross on 23 minutes and Jake Brown headed home on 39 when Danny Jenno headed back a Nathan Astill cross. Langham all but ended the tie when he buried a penalty three minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first half after Smith had been brought down inside the box. It could easily have been more, but Langham added the fourth and final goal of the game in the final minute after Smith had played him through.

ROMULUS 1-1 HARBOROUGH TOWN

(Harborough won 5-4 on pens)

Owen Watkins fired the home side ahead in the first minute of the second half, but the tie went to penalties thanks to James Ireland’s 74th minute header from a Josh Walsh free-kick. The Bees netted all five of their penalties with the Midland League side failing just once.

WORCESTER CITY 2-1 LUTTERWORTH TOWN

Worcester City from the Midland League knocked out UCL high-flyers Lutterworth Town. Bailey Fuller (29) and Will Gibbons (58) put the home side in charge and all the Swifts could manage was a last minute consolation from Louis Samuels.

 

UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION SOUTH

 

DESBOROUGH TOWN 0-2 GODMANCHESTER ROVERS

Goals from Dan Baulk and Simon Unwin gave Godmanchester a 2-0 win at Desborough. The home side also finished with ten men following the late sending-off of Alvin Magagada.

LONG BUCKBY 1-3 G.N.G OADBY TOWN

G.N.G Oadby Town flew into a three goal lead inside the first 50 minutes in Northamptonshire. Yaegan Kenzie-Gore (38), Andre Williams (47) and Mylan Charles (50) giving the Leicestershire side the points even though Carrick Bromage did pull one back for the home side three minutes from time.

POTTON UNITED 0-2 O.N CHENECKS

Chenecks finally picked up their first league win of the season with a 2-0 success at out-of-sorts Potton. A goal in each half from Stanley Channell and Ross Garlick were enough to give the visitors three points and lift them out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.

ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS 4-0 BIGGLESWADE UNITED

Corinthians beat bottom club Biggleswade 4-0 at Sargeants Lawn. It was only 1-0 at the break thanks to Zac Allen’s goal on the half-hour, but quick goals from Callum Traynor (header from a corner on 48), Owen Wells three minutes later after a mistake from United keeper Arun Khan and finally Sam Brooks on 67 minutes gave the game a one-sided scoreline.

WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN 6-1 PETERBOROUGH NORTHERN STAR

Wellingborough hit six and condemned PNS to the relegation zone for the first time. Josh Melling scored the Doughboys first on 10 minutes and Robbie Parson made it two from the penalty spot before he added the third after half-an-hour. George Wingrove joined in around the hour mark, an own goal extended the lead and Jamie Mastropierro netted his first goal for the club late on to bring up the half-dozen for the home side.

 

 

OXFORDSHIRE F.A SENIOR CUP-1ST ROUND

 

CROPREDY 0-3 EASINGTON SPORTS

A left-foot strike by Luke Swann opened the scoring after 12 minutes and an own goal after good work from Adam Taylor had doubled the UCL club’s lead before the break. Harry Walters added a third goal on 56 minutes as Easington cruised past their Oxfordshire Senior League hosts.

BUILDBASE F.A VASE-1ST ROUND

 

 

COVENTRY UNITED 2-1 BIRSTALL UNITED

Division One side Birstall pushed Premier club Coventry United all the way, but it was the home side who progressed in the end. Goals from Curvin Ellis on 64 and Kyle Carey seven minutes later opened up a two-goal lead for the Step 5 club, but Dion Potter pulled one back for the Leicester club nine minutes from time. Coventry had to play out the final few minutes with ten men after Charlie Faulkner picked up his second yellow card of the game but they held firm to progress to the next round.

BELPER UNITED 1-2 RUGBY TOWN

Danico Johnson opened the scoring on 12 minutes when he took advantage of a slip at the back to round the keeper and slot the ball home, but it was level before the break when Richard Hanslow steered home the equaliser just before the half-hour mark. David Kolodynski headed the winning goal from a Justin Marsden corner eight minutes after the break as PDS knocked out PDN.
