UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION SOUTH
EASINGTON SPORTS v COGENHOE UNITED
Addison Rd,
Banbury.
OX16 9DH
KO 3-pm
Darren Long will be assisted by Steve Ganley as the pair take charge of first team affairs for the first time as they travel to Banbury on Saturday. This will be our first trip the Addison Road with the Banbury club being moved sideways from the Hellenic League on request in the summer. They won their appeal very late on and this is the reason we are playing with an extra team in the PDS this season. I have been to their Addison Road ground three times, but these were all several years ago back in their Hellenic League Division One days and they have added floodlights, hard-standing and a stand since then so looking forward to seeing the changes.
They have only played six league games so far due to a late start and a run in the F.A Cup, so their 18th place may be a false one, but they have only won once, a thumping 4-0 victory at O.N Chenecks, drawn once and lost the other four. They had a good run in the F.A Cup and beat Wokingham & Emmbrook away on penalties, then another away draw saw them travel to Step 4 Cinderford Town and draw 3-3. The replay also ended level and this time the UCL side made it two out of two in penalty shoot-outs to progress. They have been in the Hellenic Premier Division since winning the Division One West title in 2018/19, a season that saw them win two successive games 11-0 which is has to be said is about as usual as hen’s teeth.
Here at Cogenhoe we were so close to wiping out the memory of losing 2-3 at home to Harefield in the F.A Vase Last Saturday as we lead 2-1 away at Rugby Town, it was but late, late heartbreak as the home side made it 2-2 deep into added time. Rico Alexander and Dylan Wilson had turned the game around in the second half to put us into a 2-1 lead, but Craig Adams final game in charge ended level.

COGENHOE UNITED Reserves v RAUNDS TOWN Reserves
Compton Park,
Brafield Rd,
Cogenhoe.
NN7 1ND
KO 3-pm
Gary Fletcher will take charge of the Reserves this weekend as they look to get back on track following a couple of heavy defeats on the road. Raunds have lost all seven of their league games so far this season, although only the 7-1 defeat at home to Huntingdon Town has seen them on the end of a drubbing. In fact three of those defeats were by a single goal so it may not be as bad as it sounds after losing all seven of their opening games.
The Cooks will be hoping for a clean sheet tomorrow after losing 6-1 at Desborough and then 7-1 in the local derby Wellingborough Town last weekend.
