UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-RESERVE DIVISION
COGENHOE UNITED Reserves v O.N CHENECKS Reserves
Compton Park
Brafield Rd
Cogenhoe
NN7 1ND
KO 7-45pm
The Cooks Reserves play their first home game of the new league season tomorrow night when they entertain local rivals O.N Chenecks. This will be our opponent’s first game of the new season whilst we of course got things underway at Yaxley on Saturday as we came away with a point from a 2-2 draw. We have a new manager for the team too as Stephen Ganley takes the reins over from Darren Long and Chris Hewett who have done a sterling job balancing both the reserves and the U18s over the last few weeks during pre-season. A big Cogenhoe welcome to Stephen and wishing a successful time at Compton Park.
Saturday’s game had a few talking points, but the biggest being the second half penalty that allowed the Cuckoos to draw themselves level after the Cooks had come from behind to take the lead. Trailing at the break, goals from Will Russell and Jessi Obeng had swung things Cooks way, but the penalty decision also saw Sam Liddington sent-off for foul and abusive language and we ended up playing the last ten minutes with nine men after Nathan Jones was sent to the sinbin.
League results at Compton Park since Chenecks were promoted for the old Reserve Division Two.
