UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION SOUTH
COGENHOE UNITED v POTTON UNITED
Compton Park,
Brafield Rd,
Cogenhoe.
NN7 1ND
KO 7-45pm
Craig Adams will hopefully be able to call on Lloyd Groves after covid ruled him out of the last two games whilst Paddy Cichosz will still be available as his suspension will start from next Saturday following his red card against Dereham.
Potton have enjoyed a decent start to their reluctant return to UCL football after a brief stint in the SSML and will be tough opponents I’m sure. One blip came in a 0-4 reverse at home to current leaders Coventry United, but an opening day 5-3 victory over Wellingborugh Town and F.A Cup successes at home to Eynesbury (2-1) and Walsham-le-Willows 5-1 on Saturday stands them in good stead. This will be their first game away from the Hutchinson Hollow though so we are yet to see how they travel. One thing we do know is that they have found out where the goal is with Chisom Amadi having scored three, whilst Luke Pyman, Sam Willis, Callum Wilson and Aaron McArdle have all netted twice already with only four games gone.
Whilst we have been superb at the back so far this season, one worrying issue is the fact that we have yet to score at home despite having played three times. Away from home has been no problem with a 3-0 and a 2-0 win, but Compton Park has yet to see a competitive home goal scored, so hopefully we can do something about that on Tuesday night.
It has been a long time since our two clubs met in a league match at Compton Park as Potton spent several seasons in Division One before being transferred to the SSML when they finally secured promotion. In fact the last game here was on 10th March 2009 in the season Potton were to be relegated and the Cooks ran out comfortable 4-0 winners. Phil Cassidy, Tom McGowan, Dan Holman and Luke Dowling were the men on target for the Cooks.

UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-RESERVE DIVISION
MILTON KEYNES IRISH Reserves v COGENHOE UNITED Reserves
The Irish Centre,
Manor Fields,
Watling St,
Fenny Stratford,
Bletchley,
Milton Keynes
MK2 2HX
KO 7-45pm
Steve Ganley’s reserve team face a tough trip to face MK Irish, a team who have already beaten them 2-1 in pre-season as part of a double-header. The Irish second string are joint managed by Vinny Shrieves who is well known around the UCL and he looks to have put together a pretty experienced squad this season. Our hosts kicked off their campaign with back-to-back defeats, albeit against two of the teams expected to be in the mix come next May. They were hammered 6-2 at Desborough and followed this up with a 3-1 reverse at local rivals Newport Pagnell. They picked up their first win of the season on Saturday though when they despatched Huntingdon Town 4-2 at Manor Fields with Scott Dummett (2), Mason Spence and debutant Brandon Graham all on target.
Our scheduled home game on Saturday was postponed due to the F.A Cup so we are still looking for our first win after drawing at Yaxley and losing to Chenecks.
The U18s had been due to play Newport Pagnell Town away on Thursday, but the Swans have now cancelled this game which is a shame as its five minutes from my house! The club are try to hastily arrange another away match somewhere so keep an eye on our Twitter feed for updates.
