UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-RESERVE DIVISION
COGENHOE UNITED Reserves v ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS Reserves
Compton Park,
Brafield Road,
Cogenhoe.
NN7 1DB
KO 7-45 pm
With no first team action on Tuesday, the spotlight falls on the Reserves as they play host to Rothwell Corinthians. We found ourselves in the unfortunate and embarrassing situation of not being able to send a team to Bourne Town on Saturday and will probably face a long midweek hike out there later in the season. Rothwell did play though, although they may have wished they hadn’t as they were beaten 7-0 at Newport Pagnell Town with Jake Watkinson netting four times for the Swans. To be fair to Corinthians, Watkinson is a first team regular and wouldn’t have been playing if their game at Harborough hadn’t been called off due to a Covid outbreak.
The Cooks are one point and two places above Rothwell as we head into this game with a game in hand. Both teams have won three games so far so this looks like it could be a fairly even contest under the Compton Park floodlights. Neither side are in form at the moment, although recent games for both have been against teams at the top end of the table, but Rothwell have lost their last six and have only won and drawn one of their last twelve respectively.

NORTHANTS SENIOR YOUTH LEAGUE-SOUTH
BEDFORD TOWN (YOUTH DEVELOPMENT) U18 v COGENHOE UNITED U18
Venue TBC
Cogenhoe are scheduled to travel to Bedford Town on Thursday night but as I type this we don’t know where or if the game will go ahead this week. The hosts were playing at Wootton Blue Cross but appear to have lost this venue and they switched last week’s game to their opponents ground. Whitworth Red hammered them 11-0 in Wellingborough, a result that leaves them second bottom with the worst goal-difference in the division, but they are six points clear of Irchester whom they have completed the double over after winning 4-1 away and 5-1 at ‘home’.
It is believed they may ask to switch this game to Compton Park and count it as their home game, but with the Reserves in action this week, we may to decline this and play the game later in the season. The club will endeavour to keep you updated on this through our social media outlets.
The lads will be keen to get back onto the field and keep up their recent form after winning our last two games and scoring seven goals in the process. Last week Luca Iaciofano netted twice to take his tally to eight for the season, with Shad Reza also on target from the penalty spot and claiming assists for the other two.
