Darren Long and Chris Hewett again took charge of the young reserves team as they travelled to Yaxley, but they were joined by the man who will be taking the permanent role as Stephen Ganley joined them in the dugout for his first chance to see the boys in action.
They were hit by a number of drop outs on the eve of the game which in not ideal, but we still had enough to earn an opening day draw. WE trailed at the break, but the returning Will Russell marked his comeback from injury with an equaliser after 56 minutes. Jessi Obeng also returned to action whilst back in town from university and he popped up with our second goal around 70 minutes to give us the lead, but Yaxley levelled from the penalty spot with a decision that riled the Cogenhoe team. Sam Liddington was sent-off for foul and abusive language and keeper Kai Hanley was shown the yellow version as they disputed the decision. We played the final ten minutes with nine men after Nathan Jones was sent to the sinbin, but we held firm to take a point which is usually a success on a trip to Yaxley.

The Reserves are quickly back in action on Tuesaday night when we play host to our friends and rivals from O.N Chenecks with a 7-45 kick off. No first team action this week so come along and watch our talented youngsters in action at Compton Park.
