UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-PREMIER DIVISION SOUTH
COGENHOE UNITED v DESBOROUGH TOWN
Compton Park,
Brafield Rd,
Cogenhoe.
NN7 1ND
KO 3pm.
A lot has happened since the opening Tuesday of the season when we travelled to Desborough and ran out very convincing 3-0 winners as Jack Daldy (2) and Dylan Wilson got us off to a great start. It hasn’t been a great season so far for former Cogenhoe player Jim La Masurier and his team having picked up just 18 points so far from their 19 games and they currently sit in 17th, six places and seven points adrift of the Cooks. Both clubs last games played came against Potton and both ended 1-1, so on current form it looks like this one will be a close game. Jake Bettles, who played a couple of games pre-season for the Cooks a couple of season’s back, popped up in stoppage time on Tuesday night to earn Ar Tarn a point at the Hutchinson Hollow after Potton themselves had taken a late lead in a game of few chances. Last time out for us was ten days ago and we also had to come from behind to take a point off Potton, but it wasn’t quite so late when Dylan Wilson scored a great goal to cancel out an own goal a few minutes earlier.
Desborough have won just once in their last ten games, a 3-0 win at strugglers O.N Chenecks as Tom Mills’ opener was added too by a second half penalty double from Iain Blaikie at Billing Road.
Recent games have been close affairs. We didn’t meet here last season but the last match here saw an early goal from Alex Nwafor give the Cooks a 1-0 victory, whilst Desborough have won just once in the last 10 Compton Park meetings

UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-RESERVE DIVISION
WHITWORTH Reserves v COGENHOE UNITED Reserves
Whitworth S&S,
London Rd,
Wellingborough.
KO 3pm.
The Reserves have won their last games so will head to Whitworth in a confident mood despite the fact that our hosts are 14 points clear of us before the game. 3-2 wins over Yaxley and Newport Pagnell ended a bit of a slump for the Cooks and with Ben Mason in good form in front of goal we will be looking to reduce that gap come Saturday evening. The two sides drew 2-2 at Compton Park back in October with the visitors fighting back after goals from Andis Vigants and Shad Reza had put us two-up inside 23 minutes, but Noah Thompson and Akram Lasalire earned the Flourmen a point. Whitworth are in good shape at the moment having won their last four games, three of which were at home. With a good mixture of youth and experience in their squad they seem to have a good balance and last time out they were 4-0 winners over Rothwell Corinthians with Jacob Thompson bagging a brace.
