UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE-RESERVE DIVISION
G.N.G OADBY TOWN 4-3 PETERBOROUGH NORTHERN STAR
Oadby and Star pulled off a seven goal thriller in front of a meagre crowd of twenty at Oaks Park, with G.N.G just edging it 4-3. Adam Zia put the home side ahead after 7 minutes and it stayed that way until three minutes into first half stoppage time when Yaegan Kenzie-Gore doubled the home side’s lead. Jack Eldridge reduced the arrears on 57, but Ben Sault restored the Poachers two-goal advantage five minutes later. The Peterborough side fought back strongly and Trey West gave them hope with a goal on 73 minutes and it looked like they might even go on and win it when Matt Cox equalised with ten minutes left. Oadby were still looking for maximum points themselves though and they did just that when Andre Williams struck the winner four minutes from time.
HARBOROUGH TOWN 2-0 RUGBY TOWN
Goals at either end of the game gave Harborough the points over visiting Rugby as they held on to their six point lead at the top. Paul Malone was on target again with another headed goal after just five minutes from Josh Walsh’s free-kick and Walsh himself grabbed the killer second goal with seven minutes remaining.
LUTTERWORTH TOWN 2-3 HINCKLEY LEICESTER ROAD
Third placed Lutterworth hosted second placed HLR at Dunley Way and despite two goals from the prolific Tendai Daire (38 and 54), it was the visitors who took the points to keep their 100% league record intact (they are now the only team to do this in the division). Matt Langham netted a quick double after 50 (pen) and 52 with Ben Humphreys scoring the winner on 69 minutes.
POTTON UNITED 1-1 NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN
Potton became the first team to stop the Swans winning in the league this season, although they do still boast an unbeaten record after this 1-1 draw. Jake Stronge gave the Swans an early lead with a powerful shot following a short-corner routine, but United fought back after the break to earn a point thanks to Sam Dowridge’s goal on 48 minutes.
ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS 2-2 O.N CHENECKS
Another record came to an end at Sargeants Lawn as Chenecks picked up their first point of the season in a 2-2 draw. Chenecks took the lead through Jonathan Muddiman, but Corinthians turned it around in their favour before half-time through Sam Brooks and a Dom Page header. O.Ns showed good spirit though and they levelled things up after the break through sub Kwabena Boateng for a hard earned draw lifting them to within three points of third bottom PNS and Premier Division safety.
