Scott Carlin takes charge of his first game as Cogenhoe boss with Northants Combination side Irchester United our opponents. The Romans were relegated from the Spartan South Midlands League Division One at the end of last season so now face up to life at step seven for the first time in many years, so they have brought in Dan Stewart who took Moulton in the opposite direction in the summer. Dan has brought in quite a lot of the squad that took Moulton to third place and eventual promotion from the SSML D1 last season and the Romans will be hoping he can achieve a similar outcome for them come next May.
The Cooks squad is likely to include a number of new faces as the gaffer gets a chance to take a look at the boys in action, whilst we will also see a number of players from last season too. We will also see a few ‘unnamed’ trialists in this game, with both manager and players still undecided as to whom will be signed and who will look elsewhere at this early stage as we approach the first date for club’s to sign on players for the new season.

The Reserves make the trip into Leicestershire to face UCL D1 side St Andrews with the game being played at Beauchamp College in Oadby. It should prove to be a tough challenge for the lads as Ian Adcock gets a chance to look at his squad for the first time this season.
