UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE – RESERVE DIVISION

COGENHOE UNITED RESERVES v BOURNE TOWN RESERVES

Compton Park,

Brafield Rd,

Cogenhoe.

NN7 1ND

KO 7-45 pm

Ian Adcock’s Reserve team play their final home game of the season on Tuesday evening when Bourne Town visit Compton Park. It is one of the Wakes longest trips of the season at this level, so rather unfair that they have to do it midweek, but at least they can finish their season with two home games as they face Raunds Town on Thursday and Bugbrooke St Michaels on Saturday afternoon. The Cooks also have two more to play after this one, travelling to Kempston Rovers on Thursday night and rounding things off with a weekend trip to Godmanchester Rovers.

The Cooks will be looking to make it three on the spin after following up the 1-0 win in Desborough with a 4-3 victory at Wellingborough Town as Dan Webb bagged himself a brace with Aidan Rundel-Muller and Sam Giddens also finding the target. Giddens is now the Cooks leading scorer with nine goals to his name. Bourne have already made a trip to Compton Park this season as a Lee Felgate goal just before the hour saw the Cooks make progress in the League Cup on the first Saturday of September. The Cooks are also looking to make it a league double having won 2-0 at Abbey Lawn back in October with Giddens and Felgate the match winners.

Recent form has been pretty good of late for the Wakes, although they did lose 3-0 at Champions Harborough Town in their last game, but previous to that they had won five in a row including a 6-0 away win at Desborough in which Tom Edwards netted a hat-trick, a 4-3 success at Kempston with Leon Kavanagh netting a treble and a 4-0 home win over G.N.G where Kavanagh scored twice as part of the sixteen he has to his name so far this season.

UHLSPORT UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE – RESERVE DIVISION

KEMPSTON ROVERS RESERVES v COGENHOE UNITED RESERVES

Hillgrounds,

Hillgrounds Rd,

Kempston.

MK42 8SZ

KO 7-45 pm

Ian Adcock takes his Reserve team to face 7th place Kempston Rovers who sit three places and six points ahead of the Cooks. Rovers made a good start to the season, but they really tailed offed badly over the last few months, althouth they are finding their way again as we head into the final few games of the season.. They had been second in the table when they visited Compton Park earlier in December, but they came up against a rampant Cogenhoe team who banged home six goals whilst conceding just the one. Samuel Daminabo managed a consolation goal for the Walnutboys, but a Connor Gibbins hat-trick, backed up by two from Konnor Dixon and a single from skipper Lee Felgate gave the Cooks a convincing 6-1 victory.

Kempston have won their last two games, winning 3-1 at Desborough last Saturday with Daninambo, Ben Cherry and Nico Harris on target and this followed up a 4-1 home success over Wellingborough Town where Ben Sinclair helped himself to a brace with subs Cherry and Flynn Knowles also finding the back of the net. The Walnutboys were also scheduled to be in action on Tuesday night with a home game against Daventry Town, so things may have changed a lot by the time this game gets underway.
