The First Team follow the path of the Reserves on Thursday night as they head to Leicester, this time a little further into the metropolis, as they head to Hamilton Park. This will be Nirvana’s first game of their pre-season campaign, whilst the Cooks have already had a run out in the shape of a 2-1 win over Irchester United last Friday. Goals from Will Bates and Mitch White were enough to secure victory on the back pitch at Compton Park in front of 97 spectators, a great turn out on the night.
Leicester Nirvana are our former Premier Division friends and rivals, before the F.A split us up and they were moved into the North half of the UCL at step five. Although a warm welcome has always greeted us on trips to Hamilton Park, that hasn’t spread onto the pitch as we are yet to muster a single point so far. No points on offer tomorrow and the emphasis is on preparation for the real stuff, but it would be nice to end that losing streak even if there is nothing at stake in reality.
On Saturday you will get a chance to see two games as the Reserves host AFC Oakley on the back pitch at 1pm before the Firsts host Daventry Town on the main pitch with a 3pm kick-off. More on these two games on the website on Friday afternoon.
