Finbarr Carroll took in the Vets Game at Compton Park this morning and despite the first sighting of ‘The Billing Mist’, he took some excellent photos for us despite the foggy conditions.

MILTON KEYNES VETERANS LEAGUE – DIVISION THREE

COGENHOE UNITED VETS 11 UPPER HEYFORD VETS 0

Steve Carroll (7)

Ollie Reynolds (3)

Lewis Hill

The Veterans team scored eleven goals for the third consecutive home game with Upper Heyford facing a long drive home to Oxfordshire following their heaviest defeat of the season. Steve Carroll netted an individual tally of seven (as he had done in his previous home game) to take his tally to 23, whilst Ollie Reynolds hat-trick took him into double figures and Lewis Hill’s goal was his third of the season to date. Paul Carroll missed a penalty, perhaps put off somewhat by the fact that the penalty-spot hadn’t actually been marked out.

Next up for the Vets is a long trip to Merton village to face fourth place Bicester Athletic next Sunday morning.

One down side was the players had to spend some time removing ‘dog mess’ from the pitch before the game could start, this despite the NO DOGS signs around the area. Why people are happy to leave their dog’s doings for other’s to pick up is beyond me, made even worse by the fact that these pitches are also used by the children’s teams.
