The Cooks head back up the M1 tomorrow, but this time they turn off at the Leicester junction as they head to GNG Oadby Town’s new home for their second visit to the Riverside Football Ground. They will be hoping for an improvement on two fronts, firstly from their KO Cup exit at Clifton last Saturday and secondly from the 3-1 defeat we suffered on our first visit here. That day had started really well for the Cooks and the home keeper had already made three notable saves before Jessi Obeng broke clear to fire us ahead after just 8 minutes, but GNG drew level through seasoned campaigner Lamar Parkes on 20 minutes to restore parity at the break. We made the worst possible start to the second half as Musa Bham curled in a great effort from wide on the left within 60 seconds and Ryan Robbins added the third 15 minutes from time.

GNG currently sit in tenth place, two places and four points behind the Cooks, but their goal difference is minus seventeen despite winning three of their opening nine games. In the league they have beaten Desborough 1-0, Histon 3-1 and Rugby Borough 5-1, but all these wins have come away from home and they are yet to register a single victory at the Riverside Football Ground. Although they did hold much fancied Wellingborough Town to a 2-2 draw recently. Heavy defeats at home have come against Godmanchester on the opening day 1-5, Racing Club Warwick (0-4) and Newport Pagnell Town (0-6), whilst their heaviest defeat so far was at Daventry where they were humbled 7-0. Last Saturday they travelled to Yaxley and were 2-1 up at the break thanks to a Tyrel Francis double, but the Cuckoos fought back to take the points with a 5-2 victory.
