BIGGLESWADE UNITED 0-1 POTTON UNITED

Sam Willis scored the only goal of the game on 20 minutes at Second Meadow, but the home sides hopes of getting anything out of this game were severely hampered by the sendings-off of Axel Ampadu on 59 minutes and Kye Andrews on 78, the latter for a second yellow card.

EYNESBURY ROVERS 1-0 LONG BUCKBY

Luke Knight broke the stalemate two minutes into stoppage time at the end of the game to earn Eynesbury maximum points and send the visiting team home frustrated.

LUTTERWORTH TOWN 0-2 HARBOROUGH TOWN

Two first half goals saw the Bees clinch this local derby and close the gap on the leaders. Rhys Hoenes opened the scoring on 10 minutes and once Ben Williams had added the second just before the half-hour mark the points were in the bag for the visitors.

NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN 2-2 WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN

An entertaining game at Willen Road saw the visitors take a very early lead through Lloyd Buckby’s penalty, but the game turned through quick goals from Jim Burnside with a well taken goal on 24 minutes and Christian Smail’s powerful close range header put the hosts in front three minutes later. Buckby grabbed his second from close range to level the scores after the break and the scorer was involved in late scuffle that resulted in Jordan Wright picking up a second yellow card that means he will miss the F.A Vase game. Especially hard on the Swans centre-back who was wrongly identified during this incident.

HINCHINBROOKE CUP-SEMI FINAL

BIGGLESWADE UNITED 0-2 COGENHOUE UNITED

Tom Wakley struck at the double for the second week running as the Cooks lifted themselves up to 9th in the table. The striker scored in the 63rd and 67th minute to make it back-to-back wins for the Northamptonshire club.

COVENTRY SPHINX 1-1 HINCKLEY LRFC

Hinckley were heading for a second successive defeat, but substitute Lewis Jones popped up with a 92nd minute equaliser in Coventry. Sphinx had led through Lawrence Rawlings 23rd minute strike and even though the leaders snatched a point at the death, just one point from a possible six has swung things back in favour of Harborough.

DESBOROUGH TOWN 0-3 COVENTRY UNITED

Joe Blowers low strike separated the two teams at the break, but Rhys Hilton doubled their advantage and Joe Cairns rounded off a comfortable away win for the Coventry club with a long range effort.

EASINGTON SPORTS 1-2 O.N CHENECKS

Both sides ended this one with ten men and Chenecks Ben Jackson was followed into the showers by Lloyd Sabin of Easington, both for last man fouls. Frederick Boadi scored his first goal for Chenecks to give the visitors the lead on ten minutes, but Levi Stelle cancelled it out from the penalty spot. Boadi struck again midway through the first half to restore the Northampton side’s lead and that is how it remained as Chenecks lifted themselves out of the relegation zone.

GODMANCHESTER ROVERS 0-1 OADBY TOWN

Perhaps the home side were showing signs of a cup semi-final win hangover as they played host to a weakened Oadby Town at the Farm as the visitors took all three points back to Leicestershire thanks to Mussa Bham’s effort four minutes before the interval.

HARBOROUGH TOWN 3-2 NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN

Harborough remain second behind Hinckley LR, but they have reduced the gap to a single point with that vital game in hand. Dan Cooper gave the Bees the lead on 15 minutes, but Newport drew themselves level three minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first half. Parity was short lived though as Joel Carta put the home side back in front within a minute of the restart and James Ireland’s lovely turn and strike extended their advantage on 78. Danny Webb made it interesting when he pulled it back to 3-2 with seven minutes remaining, but it wasn’t enough on the day as Harborough march on with their thirteenth successive league victory.

LONG BUCKBY 1-2 ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS

Corinthians picked up three vital points to extend the gap between them and the relegation zone. After a goalless first half, Matthew Shipman fired the Bucks in front from the penalty spot after 57 minutes, but a double strike from recent signing Jurelle Phillip swung the game in favour of the visitors.

LUTTERWORTH TOWN 1-0 EYNESBURY ROVERS

Kade Lewis was the match winner for the Swifts as his 57th minute strike from the edge of the box ended a quick break away and proved to be the only goal of the game.

RUGBY TOWN 3-2 BUGBROOKE ST MICHAELS

The Valley seemed to be in control of this game at Butlin Road as goals from Danico Johnson and Adam Shaw either side of the break gave them a two-goal lead, but the Badgers fought back to draw level through an Eddie Panter penalty and an own goal by Rugby keeper Ash Bodycote. The home side were forced to finish the game with ten men through injuries, but they still managed to secure the win when sub David Kolodynski hit the back of the net with seven minutes left.

WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN 0-0 POTTON UNITED

The Doughboys and the Royals couldn’t find the target between them at the Dog & Duck, but the point means the hosts hold on to 7th spot.

GODMANCHESTER ROVERS 4 BIGGLESWADE UNITED 0

Biggleswade played one of the three games they have in hand of Chenecks in the relegation battle, but they couldn’t make it count as they were well beaten at Godmancher. The home took the lead on the stroke of half time through Matty Allan, but it wasn’t so close after the break as Allan again, Kian Harness and sub Jamie Judge all found the target to give the Hunts side a comfortable 4-0 win.

NORTHANTS F.A SENIOR HILLIER CUP SEMI-FINAL

AFC RUSHDEN & DIAMONDS 2 BUGBROOKE ST MICHAELS 1

The Badgers were seconds away from taking this tie to penalties, but Diamonds scored a stoppage time winner to make it through to the final. AJ George had given the home side the lead on 26 minutes, but Calvin Green bagged pone of his trademark free-kicks on 70 to level things up. It looked like that would be the final goal of the night, but Will Jones stepped up to snatch the winner on 90+1 to break the hearts of the UCL boys.

BUILDBASE F.A VASE- 4TH ROUND

COVENTRY SPHINX 3-3 WHITCHURCH ALPORT

(WA WON 4-3 ON PENS)

Sphinx suffered penalty shoot-out heartbreak after letting a 3-1 lead slip at home to Midland Leaguers Whitchurch Alport in an entertaining game that saw six goals, three penalties and a red card in the 90 minutes. Matt Shipman gave the UCL club the lead after 14 minutes, but the Salop team were level two minutes later when Alex Hughes netted with the game’s first penalty. Callum Stewart put Sphinx in front with another spot-kick after 32 minutes in an incident that saw George Carpenter sent off for the visitors and all looked good for the Coventry boys when James Bryson made it 3-1 in stoppage time at the end of the first half. Despite the fact they were playing with a man less, Alport pulled one back through Hughes on 74 minutes, then real drama at the death saw Hughes complete his hat-trick in the 90th minute, once again from the penalty spot. Conceding so late in the game must have left Sphinx feeling somewhat deflated and indeed it was Whitchurch who held their nerve better and progressed in the penalty shoot-out.

NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN 1-1 BUCKLAND ATHLETIC

(NPT WON 4-3 ON PENS)

Newport Pagnell left it very late to grab an equaliser to send a majority of the 1,186 in attendance into raptures. 94 minutes were on the clock when centre-back Alfie Powell headed home the equaliser at Willen Road to take the game to penalties to cancel out wen Stockton’s 66th minute opener and as is often the case in these situations, the team snatching a draw at the death where the ones who came out best in the penalty shoot-out. The Swans now face a trip to Sphinx’s conquerors Whitchurch Alport in the last eight of the competition.

NORTH SHIELDS 2-0 RUGBY TOWN

The Valley made the long trip up to Tyneside to face former winners North Shields and they bowed out in front of a four-figure crowd. Chris McDonald fired the Northern League side ahead after 9 minutes, but Rugby had a great chance to level on 24 had Edwin Ahenkorah not missed his penalty. The game remained in the balance up until the 73rd minute when North Shields were awarded a penalty of their own and Dan Wilson tucked it away to seal the home side’s passage into the quarter-finals.

Two goals from Kian Harness backed up by a Matty Allan strike outweighed Eddie Panter’s effort as Goddy were successful on the road.

COVENTRY UNITED 0-3 EASINGTON SPORTS

James Hatch gave Rovers the lead on 18 minutes and they found another gear after the break to go three-up with Romaine Walker (56) and Hatch with his second six minutes later adding to the home team’s tally. Barnes Gladman pulled one back for Ar Tarn on 67 but that was all they could manage on the day.

G.N.G OADBY TOWN 0-2 WELLOINGBOROUGH TOWN

The Doughboys have Jake Stone back at the helm following Paul Lamb’s resignation due to ill health and he was smiling on Saturday night as Lloyd Buckby struck at the double to give his side the three points in Leicestershire.

HARBOROUGH TOWN 7-0 BIGGLESWADE UNITED

The Bees rattled in seven goals without reply as two of the teams at opposite ends of the table clashed in Market Harborough. Both James Ireland and Joel Carta bagged hat-tricks on the day with sub Jordan Henson joining in on 84 minutes. The Royals recorded their biggest win of the season so far when they whipped Long Buckby 6-0 at the Huthinson Hollow. Three goals in each half did the damage as Sam Willis (31), Liam Andrews (35), David Parkinson (40 and 51) and sub Loren Maxwell (67 and 86) all gave the Potton Ultras plenty to cheer about.

ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS 0-2 HINCKLEY LRFC

The only game to survive storm Eugene came on the astroturf at Butts Park Arena where the two CUFCs shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. A well-struck shot from just outside the box from Ashton DeMulder had given the home side a 25th minute lead, but Archie Elmore earned the Cooks a point with his successful penalty three minutes before the break.

Penalties were looming as added time ticked away, but Rhiney popped up with the match winner to bring some much needed cheer to Second Meadow.

BIGGLEWSWADE UNITED 3-1 G.N.G OADBY TOWN

We are starting to head towards the business end of the season and Biggleswade have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone with a 3-1 win over GNG Oadby. Josh Sturnolio lobbed the keeper to give United the lead on 21 minutes, but it was level at the break thanks to Nyle Patel’s 42nd minute effort. The home side regained the lead on 63 minutes when Milo Keane cut in from the left and fired home and they made sure of the win with a last minute goal from Mohammed El-Ouhabi.

COGENHOE UNITED 2-1 ROTHWELL CORINTHIANS

The Cooks moved up to ninth as they made it three wins out of four with a narrow win over Rothwell Corinthians. Rothwell had the better of the first half with home keeper Craig Foxall forced into a couple of saves, but Cogenhoe got their noses in front through Tom Wakley six minutes after the restart with a good finish from just outside the box. Rothwell pulled level after 76 minutes when Owen Wells played the ball into the box and the unfortunate Dan Mortimer got a touch to send the ball looping over his own keeper and into the net. The home side took the points though when Wakley found Archie Elmore in the box and he steered the ball home with five minutes remaining.

DESBOROUGH TOWN 2-2 RUGBY TOWN

I’m sure Rugby will see this as two points dropped in the battle for third place after twice taking the lead against Desborough. Caine Elliott struck first four minutes before half-time when he turned in a Danico Johnson cross, but Tom Mills headed home Barnes Gladman’s cross to level things up two minutes shy of the hour. Maybe a spot of de-ja-vu for the home side on 73 minutes as Elliott side footed the Valley back in front with Danico Johnson once more the creator, but Tom Gudyer got his head to the ball after Rugby keeper could only parry a shot to snatch a point for Ar Tarn four minutes into added time.

EYNESBURY ROVERS 0-0 O.N CHENECKS

It was a bleak day for Chenecks despite picking up a decent away point at Eynesbury. Not only did they have sub Jaspal Rait sent off for two bookable offences, but they also slipped back into the relegation zone following Biggleswade’s win over Oadby.

GODMANCHESTER ROVERS 1-1 COVENTRY UNITED

It finished all-square at one-apiece in Godmanchester as Muzi Nduna’s opener for the visitors was quickly cancelled out by CJ Lewis’ back post header.

HINCKLEY LRFC 1-0 EASINGTON SPORTS

Matt Langham’s 9th minute penalty proved enough to give LRFC the points and lift them back to the top of the table from a scrappy affair in the outskirts of Hinckley. The three points mean they are one point ahead of Harborough with both sides having played 27 games.

LUTTERWORTH TOWN 2-2 COVENTRY SPHINX

It ended level at Kong Park as the Swifts shared four goals with Sphinx. Dan Tuck put the home side ahead on 6 minutes with Craig Maisiri supplying the assist, but Harvey Billing hit the target from outside the box on 10 minutes to restore parity. Sphinx were back in front on 67 minutes with Matthew Shipman the man on target, but Louis Samuels earned his side a point with a peach of a strike into the top corner four minutes from time.

NEWPORT PAGNELL TOWN 3-1 POTTON UNITED

Jake Watkinson stole the limelight for third placed Newport Pagnell with hat-trick at home to Potton. The first came after 20 minutes when he slotted home from Ben Shepherd’s pass, but Potton had drawn level before the break thanks to a Louis Octave goal on 33 minutes. Watkinson got his second with a header after 48 minutes and he completed his treble after some great work by Leon Lobjoit on 65.

WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN 3-1 HARBOROUGH TOWN

Harborough slipped to a rare defeat as Wellingborough Town put them to the sword at the Dog & Duck. Jake Newman put the home side in front a minute before half time when he headed home Séan McBride’s pin-point cross and Lloyd Buckby doubled their advantage from the penalty spot five minutes after the restart. Newman bagged his second with a shot from outside the box a minute before the hour mark and although the Bees finally got on the scoresheet in stoppage time when Joel Carta reduced the arrears, the day belonged to the Doughboys who fully deserved their win today.
