The Cooks travelled to Coventry on Tuesday night for this re-arranged league game with several played unavailable, including previously 100% keeper Craig Foxall (injured), who was joined by defensive players Will Bates (work), Paddy Cichosz (injury) and forward Tom Wakley (ill). This meant a first team debut for U18s keeper Ben Westwood for what was going to be a tough game on the road, whilst U18s and reserve players Nick Fleming, Luca Iaciofano and Matt Fletcher were on the bench. The Cooks did well enough in the first half, but they fell behind to a Loz Rawlings goal on 37 minutes and crucially conceded a second right on half-time to a screamer from Callum Stewart. Stewart added further goals after the break as he completed a hat-trick 0n 67 and 71 and Matty Shipman made it 5-0 late on.

Cooks; Westwood, Vaughan, Adams, Mortimer (Fletcher), Riley, Alexander ©, Culley, Archer (Fleming), Elmore, Norman, Boateng (Iaciofano).

The Cooks next game sees the Friday night match trial begin as we host local rivals Bugbrooke St Michaels with a 7-45 kick-off. This will be our third meeting of the season having beaten them 1-0 at the Sett thanks to an early goal from Tom Wakley, but they did gain their revenge in the NFA Senior Cup quarter final as they beat us 2-1. Dylan Wilson scoring our late consolation from the penalty spot.

The U18s are in action at Wellingborough Town in the Jaymann Shield tonight, whilst the Reserves hope to return to action at Rothwell Corinthians on Saturday afternoon.
