UNITED COUNTIES LEAGUE – PREMIER DIVISION SOUTH

BUGBROOKE ST MICHAELS v COGENHOE UNITED

The Sett,

Gayton Rd,

Bugbrooke,

NN7 3PH

KO 3-pm

The Cooks return to action tomorrow afternoon after two frustrating weekends due to frost and rain when they make the short trip across the county to face Bugbrooke St Michaels. The Badgers currently sit in tenth spot, five points above the Cooks, but they have played two games more to date. The Cooks will have a little revenge on their minds in this game, having lost 0-4 at Compton Park back in August, their first win and our first defeat of the campaign with Tom Walton, Dylan Surace, Calvin Green and Kev Shehi all getting their names on the scoresheet, the pick of which a screamer from Green. Calvin Green has become somewhat famous in the last few days with the video of him scoring another great goal from a cheeky short corner for his Sunday team Hackleton United in the F.A Sunday Cup last Sunday having be viewed millions of times on the internet.

Back to Bugbrooke and they have won drawn and lost in their previous three games (the exact reverse of the Cooks reason form) with the loss coming last Saturday when they lost 8-2 at Racing Club Warwick (the place of Cogenhoe’s last defeat). Two goals from Levon Stewart had given the Badgers a 2-1 half-time lead, but the second half saw the Racers net seven without reply. Goals have been flying in recently with their previous game ending up 4-4 at Rugby Borough with former Cooks striker Luke Emery netting a double on his Bugbrooke debut after signing from Newport Pagnell. The win came at home to Histon with Ed Panter, Carter Price and Stewart the scorers in a 3-0 win. Calvin Green is their leading scorer with 14 goals to his name, mainly from midfield, although he appears to have been playing at the back in recent matches.

The last time these two teams met at The Sett was back in April and the afternoon belonged to the Cooks as Pharrell Anderson’s second minute goal proved enough to give us a 1-0 victory in a tight, but fairly uneventful game. Back to recent times, the Cooks followed up their 3-3 draw at Daventry with a 2-1 home win over Leicester Nirvana with both our goals coming late in the first half with Ben Gough and Jack Connor on target. Carlin has named a seventeen-man squad for tmorrow’s game with Callum Farmer, Josh Jones and Lewis Green all added to the squad, but he will be without both Luke Bullement and Charlie Pearson dropping out,

League fixtures secretary Roger Walker has been a busy man over the last week as he rearranges all the recent postponed games with the following taking effect on the Cooks.

Sat 3rd Feb Home to St Neots Town

Sat 17th Feb Away at Yaxley

Sat 24th Feb Home to GNG
