Cogenhoe United are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Carlin as new first team manager and Ian Adcock as new reserve team manager.

Scott Carlin joins the Cooks having been involved in the AFC Rushden & Diamonds management set up for the last 10 seasons. Making up Scott’s management team is Andy Batty (assistant manager) who also joins from AFC Rushden & Diamonds Ryan Farmer (coach) also joins from AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Steve Ganley (First team coach) who remains with the Cooks having been assistant to outgoing manager Darren Long. Scott brings a wealth of local football knowledge and having played and managed in Northamptonshire for a long period of time he is held in really high regards within the football community. Everyone at Cogenhoe United would like to welcome Scott and Andy to Compton Park and we wish them alongside Steve all the very best for the 2022/23 season.

Carlin comes in to replace Darren Long who took over 11 games into last season following the resignation of Craig Adams. Darren guided the Cooks to a comfortable mid table finish having took charge with the Cooks only having won one of our first seven league games of the season. Darren and Steve did a fantastic job of steadying the ship and picked up some fantastic wins against a number of top 8 sides along the way. Everyone at the club would like to thank Darren for all of his hard work and dedication over the last 6 seasons and he will always welcomed back to Compton Park with open arms.

Taking on the Cooks reserves team for the 2022/23 season is Ian Adcock joining from Earls Barton United. Ian has had a very successful spell in charge of Earls Barton guiding the club to a strong position in the extremely competitive Northants Combination Premier Division. Assisting Ian will be his assistant from Earls Barton Lee Saving. Ian comes to the Cooks looking to improve and build a strong and competitive side that will more than supplement the first team and offer an excellent foundation for the younger players stepping up from u18’s football.

Rounding out the Cooks management structure is returning Gary Fletcher and Damien McGrath staying on as u18’s managers. Both men did a fantastic job with the u18’s last season, guiding the Cooks to a runners up spot in the league and a County Cup semifinal exit to Northampton Town. Gary and Damien have worked extremely hard to re-build a brand new u18’s team for the 2022/23 season which will hopefully lead to more success on the field.
