The Reserves were beaten by a late goal for the second Saturday running, although not quite as late as Newport Pagnell’s stoppage time goal seven days previous.

In-form Connor Gibbins put the Cooks ahead after just 4 minutes making it seven in his last four games, but Jordan Richards levelled just three minutes later and that is how it stood at the break. The Cooks dominated the second half but couldn’t find that elusive second goal and when Velin Raychev struck nine minutes from time, it turned out to be the decisive goal of the game.

Next week it is back to Junior Cup action when we travel to face Kettering Nomads and the boys will be glad of two neutral assistant referees being appointed to that game.
