The Reserves faced a tough trip to Isham to face a Kettering Nomads side currently sitting in second place in the Northants Combination with a squad littered with players with UCL Premier Division or higher experience. Two former Cooks players were picked by Joe Rich, Ant O’Connor in goal and Jack Wisniewski, while the likes of Nathan Wills, Mick Tolton, Michael Boyle-Chong, Jake Bettles, Tom Judge and former Kettering Town player Chris Difante are well known amid the Compton Park faithful. To make the day even harder, Ian Adcock was without keeper Ciaran Wells, plus a few regulars that had been cup-tied after playing for the first team in the senior cup against Desborough a couple of months ago. Added to this was the unavailability of inform Connor Gibbins who had scored seven goals in the previous four games was a massive blow.

Nomads rattled in four goals in each half on a gloomy afternoon in the Northamptonshire village, with Wisniewski, George Proctor and Bettles all netting doubles, with skipper James Whittemore and sub Lucas Blackwell bringing up the eight. The Cooks may be out of their last cup competition of the season, but credit must go to Ian and the boys as they were the only Reserve team to reach this stage of the competition.

The lads will be keen to put this behind them when they travel to bottom club Raunds Town next Saturday and hopefully a return to winning ways.
